Britain's Princess Anne, sister of King Charles III, was hospitalized with minor injuries and a concussion, Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday, 24.
According to British media, the princess was walking near horses at her home in Gloucestershire, England, when she suffered a minor head injury. The exact cause of the injury has not been confirmed, but it is believed to have been caused by a fall while riding.
Anne, 73, is an experienced horsewoman. He won a gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals at the European Equestrian Championships in 1975. In 1976, he competed in the Montreal Olympics.
“The Princess Royal suffered minor injuries and concussion following an incident in Catcombe Park last night,” a statement from Buckingham Palace said. “His Royal Highness remains at Southmead Hospital in Bristol as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”
In the note, the palace said Charles had been “closely informed and joins the entire Royal Family in sending the Princess their deepest love and best wishes for a speedy recovery”.
Anne is the younger sister of King Charles and the second of Queen Elizabeth II's four children. She is followed by Princes Andrew and Edward.
