The possible termination of SUS services at Santa Isabel Hospital is a cause for discussion at Acib

The meeting took place today, Monday

Faced with the possibility of stopping the services provided by SUS at the Santa Isabel Hospital, starting in July, the Blumenau Business Association (Acib) welcomed the Secretary of State for Health, Diogo Demarchi Silva, to discuss the issue on Monday 24. Affected will be the areas of neurology, cardiology, oncology and the emergency room.

The Secretary indicated that next Friday, the 28th, he will receive the management of the Hospital Rede Santa Catarina (RSC), to hold a meeting on SUS at the Hospital Santa Isabel. “The hospital’s claim is much larger, but we have already spoken to the network that we are not able to contribute all the amount they need. “We are moving the oncology department (to the Santo Antonio Hospital) and accelerating the transfer of the amounts from the parliamentary amendments,” he explains.

The director indicated that the value of the amendments currently amounts to 7 million Brazilian riyals. According to him, the state government has been working since the end of 2022 to find a solution. DeMarchi also confirms that the state does not operate with the possibility of interruption of services.

Santa Isabel Hospital CEO, Giuliano Peters, is optimistic about the meeting to be held, but appealed to the SC government to consider six-tier hospitals (the classification of which the institution is part).

“At this moment, the procedures are slow for our needs. We hope that we will get answers so that the network understands that it is important to stay in the hospital.” He also comments that the struggle to improve transfers is not only limited to Santa Isabel, but also to Santo Antônio, the Misericordia Hospital and the hospitals. others in the state.

What all managers agree on is that the SUS schedule urgently needs to be updated, as the last one was prepared in 2013. For Acib's president, Christiane Borger, it is unfortunate how the health issue is put in the background and often does not receive attention. Resources needed.

“When it comes to health, we need solutions, not just discussions,” he says. It hopes that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible and that residents will not be affected by stopping services.
