1. Create custom images
Gemini app can create different types of images through artificial intelligence. To do this, simply type a command prompt like “Create image of a bear playing with its cubs” so the platform will deliver the results with high accuracy. The image can be downloaded and used anywhere.
It is worth noting that although the application is in Portuguese, the image creation feature will only be activated using command prompts in English. One tip is to use Google Translate to do the translation, copy the text to your phone's clipboard, and finally paste it into Gemini to generate the results.
To create a photo, simply open the app, enter the command prompt in the “Type, speak, or post photo” field and tap the “paper airplane” icon. Wait for the processing to receive the results, and if you prefer, you can click Create More to view the new image options. To save your favorites, tap on the image and select the download icon at the top right of the screen.
2. Write emails
Another interesting feature of the Gemini app is the ability to use command prompts to create draft emails. A user can ask the platform to create an invitation for a birthday party or a presentation for a potential business contact. Another possibility is to ask that the finished draft be summarized or made more formal or concise, for example.
To use this function, simply access Gemini, click on the “Write, talk, or post a photo” field and type a command like “Write an email to invite a special friend to my birthday party.” Then click on the “Kite” icon and wait for the order to be processed. Then, simply edit the information such as name, date and time, copy and paste the message into any email platform. The user can also click on the three-dot icon below the generated text and create a draft directly in Gmail.
3. Ask questions about different topics
Google's chatbot is a great alternative for answering questions on a wide range of topics. The platform collects information found on various websites and turns it into a simple and concise answer that the user can easily understand. The resource can help, for example, people who are taking exams or who always have difficulty understanding a particular topic.
To ask questions, simply open the app and type your question in the “Write, speak or add photo” field. Then submit the question by clicking on the “paper airplane” icon and wait for the answer to appear on the screen. However, it should be noted that the official Gemini website itself states that this generative AI is new, and therefore, it can still make mistakes, and provide inaccurate information. One way to help improve is to submit feedback by clicking on the agree or no icons below each response.
What can still be released on the app?
Google's new app is expected to replace Google Assistant on several fronts. Activation is the same as on the older platform, initiated via the on/off button or via an “Ok, Google” command.
Gemini may soon have the option to set timers, make calls, and control smart devices. Moreover, according to the portal Robot bodyThere are rumors that Google will test the PDF upload feature on the new platform, with the aim of summarizing the content contained in this type of file.
There are indications that Google will also be working on a tool called “Conversational Mode” for the app. It is not yet known exactly what this is about, but some theories claim that it will be possible to have continuous conversations on the platform, without having to activate listening mode. Another theory is that “conversational mode” may have something to do with instant translations, a feature that already exists in other AI platforms. Google is expected to announce the new Gemini features on May 14, the date on which Google I/O 2024 will be held, the company's main event for announcing updates to developers.
