The United Kingdom has decided to lift restrictions on travelers from the European Union and the United States. However, Boris Johnson’s CEO chose to maintain quarantine measures for travelers from France and not those from other EU countries, something the French government deemed “discriminatory” on Thursday.
It is excessive and, frankly, incomprehensible for health reasons. “Reuters” quoted the French Minister of Europe, Clement Bonn, as saying that this measure is not a measure inspired by science and is discriminatory with respect to the French. “I hope it will be reviewed as soon as possible, it’s just common sense,” he added.

The British government justifies the decision to keep restrictions on travelers from France by having a beta variant, but French authorities argue that most cases originate from the Indian Ocean island of La Reunion.
Covid-19 infections in France have continued to rise. The latest data revealed that 26,871 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the country. There are 7,137 people in hospital (978 in intensive care), an increase compared to recent weeks, when the number of patients was just over six thousand.
