Manchester beat RB Leipzig in the Champions League – 09/15/2021

Manchester, United Kingdom, September 15, 2021 (AFP) – Manchester City beat German Leipzig 6-3, Wednesday, in the first round of Group A of the Champions League.

The vice-champion of the last edition of the continental championship, the England team achieved a balance between the opponents’ networks through the Dutchman Nathan Ake (in the 16th minute), the French Nordi Mukele (against 28) and the Algerian Riyad Mahrez (penalty kick), 45 + 2), to Jack Grealish (56). Portugal’s Joao Cancelo (75) and Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus (85).

French Christopher Nkunku scored all the visitors’ goals (42, 51, 73).

With this result, the Manchester City team leads the group with 3 points, two points ahead of Belgian club Brugge and French Paris Saint-Germain, who also tied 1-1 on Wednesday.

After a difficult start to the season, by defeating Leicester in the British Super Cup final (Community Shield) against Tottenham in the opening round of the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s side have now achieved their fourth win in a row.

A different scenario from that experienced by RB Leipzig, runner-up in Germany, who in this edition of the national championship finished 13th (3 points after four rounds) and comes from a home defeat to Bayern Munich (4-1), last Saturday.
