The Anglo-Austrian team and the Japanese company revealed, Thursday (7), the cooperation agreements for the year 2022.
Over the next season in this class, Honda will continue to develop its power unit for the RBR and Alpha Tauri teams, but the process will be overseen by a company called Red Bull Powertrains, which was recently set up.
In addition, the Japanese company will continue to provide operational support at the Japan Grand Prix in the next edition of the World Championship, but from 2023, Red Bull Powertrains will take full responsibility for engine production and maintenance.
RBR, which owns four manufacturers’ championships, will also be given the go-ahead to hire technicians to work at Honda’s UK base located in Milton Keynes.
Red Bull revealed last Wednesday (6) that it will compete in the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul, with a special plaque on its cars in honor of Honda. The RB16B, with guidance from Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez, will have a white and red design.
