The ball never stops rolling in the Queen’s land at the end of the year. Not even at Christmas. As is usual in England, matches in the four main divisions of English football will be held on December 26: the traditional “Boxing Day”. This happens every year because it has been a holiday celebrated in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth Territories (the British Community of Nations) since the end of the 19th century. And on this Christmas tour, it is very common for fans to dress up as Santa Claus to attend the matches.

However, this year, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic (the omicron variant has infected many people in England and affected many English club athletes), some Premier League matches have been postponed, breaking the tradition of years of having a full tour of England. Boxing Day, they are: Burnley x Everton and Liverpool x Leeds Watford x Wolverhampton will not take place on Sunday (26).
