The PEC text stipulates a national salary limit of two minimum wages (currently equivalent to 2,424 R$) for the category and also provides for unhealthy overtime and a special retirement, due to the risks inherent in the jobs performed. The KPC also specifies that states, the Federal District, and municipalities must establish other benefits, incentives, aid, bonuses, and compensation, in order to evaluate the work of these professionals.

The PEC decides that the agents’ salaries are paid by the union and that the amounts of these payments are recorded in the budget with its own and specific appropriations. Pursuant to the proposal, financial resources transferred by the Federation to the States, the Federal District and the Municipalities for the payment of salaries or any other benefit to the agents and agents of community health for the control of endemic diseases shall not be included in the calculation for the purposes of the personnel expenditure limit.
