What will UK shoppers be looking for on Amazon Prime Day 2022? Ahead of this year’s event, which takes place on Tuesday (12) and Wednesday (13), a new report from e-commerce provider Edge from Ascential has revealed the most searched terms during Prime Day 2021.
In 2021, canteens and water bottles were the top search terms, followed by buzzer, winged eyeliner stamp, and Fire 8 gas, which grew by 3,000%. Other notable and surprising increases were in the distribution of laundry baskets and rice, indicating demand for more functional household goods.
The report predicts that UK e-commerce will grow by £15.5bn in 2022 alone, an increase of almost 11% to reach £157.5bn, proof that even with the Covid-19 restrictions, e-commerce remains an ingrained shopping habit. lift up
According to Edge by Essentials, the data should highlight brands’ value in identifying off-prime search terms before they go viral, which can help them get found online.
Despite economic concerns this year, Amazon Prime Day 2022 will once again be “an important event to drive sales against the backdrop of the continued growth of e-commerce in the UK and across the world,” the e-commerce firm said.
“Amazon Prime Day was built to reward shoppers’ loyalty throughout the year. Like other key retail moments around the world, including Singles Day or Black Friday, it’s an opportunity for brands to attract new and existing customers with special offers.
