Pebble Gilberto, niece of Chico Puarque, tramples on the Brazilian flag at a concert

the singer Gilberto baby, the niece of Chico Poark and the daughter of composer Joao Gilberto, has been the protagonist of the controversy this week. During a show on Tuesday the 29th, Pebble received the Brazilian flag, threw the object to the ground and trampled the national symbol.

After that, the singer rehearsed the samba steps and used the Brazilian flag to clean the stage. “Sorry for doing this, but do you think I’m happy to be Brazilian or not?” , asked Pebble in English. A few “yes” and “no”s are heard, as well as whistles and cries from the audience.

Then Pebble sings “Bananeira” and doesn’t talk about it anymore. The singer is touring in the United States and Canada.

The video was shared by Mario Frias, former Minister of Culture in Jair Bolsonaro’s government. “These people feel nothing about Brazil,” Frias wrote on Twitter. “They just like to take advantage of what people can offer them.”
