American and British viewers will be able to watch a three-part documentary in the coming weeks about Jair Bolsonaro and his sons’ rise to power, as well as his administration that changed the way Brazil is seen in the eyes of the world.
three hours from Boys from Brazil: The Rise of Bolsonaros (Brazil’s Boys: The Rise of Bolsonarosin free translation) begins broadcasting this Wednesday on public television in the United States PBS (Public Broadcasting Service). In the United Kingdom, the series will be shown from next Monday (5/9) onwards BBC2 Responsible for the documentary.
Producers interviewed members of the clan, such as Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (who gave his version of “stab” during the 2018 race, which was crucial to the election results), former Bolsonarista Health Minister and now opponent Luis Mandetta (on handling the pandemic), US journalist Glenn Greenwald D., a resident of Brazil since 2005, and her husband, federal MP and LGBTQIA+ activist David Miranda (PDT).
The expectation is that the program will bring revelations about the manipulation of media and public opinion that then pushed a dwarf candidate to the Palácio do Planalto. For this purpose, the producers interviewed Steve Bannon, the strategist for former US President Donald Trump, responsible for helping to unite far-right governments around the world. Bannon actively participated in Bolsonaro’s presidential campaign.

In addition to coming to power, the documentary focuses on the catastrophic behavior of the pandemic and the alarming rates of environmental destruction – one of the most expensive topics related to Brazil for foreign audiences. There are no expectations for Boys from Brazil: The Rise of Bolsonaros It is broadcast on the national territory.
With just over a month left before the presidential election, the broadcast date could have an electoral impact. In 2018, Bolsonaro manually won among Brazilian voters residing in the United States and the United Kingdom.
This “Boys from Brazil: The Rise of Bolsonaros” seems, first of all, a great sign. Premieres 8/31 on PBS (US Public Television) and 9/5 on BBC2. It seems that the United States and the United Kingdom want to show the domestic public that they will not accept Bolsonaro’s coup here pic.twitter.com/o0tNpTXsz0
