The Mustang Dark Horse has the most powerful 5.0 V8 engine in history and a manual transmission

Torque and performance numbers weren’t revealed, but Ford excited enthusiasts with “small” details: the version will have a six-speed manual transmission as standard. A 10-speed automatic transmission will be optional.

According to the brand, a number of changes have been made to create a more refined performance car. Improvements have been made to aerodynamics, brakes and tires, as well as brake, rear axle and engine oil cooling. Speaking of the engine, it gets connecting rods introduced in the Shelby GT500 Mustang and a new intake design, with a dual throttle body, for better mass breathing.

There are unique chassis tweaks too, with larger rear anti-roll bars and narrower front shocks, six-piston Brembo brakes, Torsen rear differential and MagneRide shocks.

For those who want more performance, the Mustang Dark Horse offers the handling package, with a Ford GT-like rear spoiler, stiffer springs, larger anti-roll front and rear bars and wider Pirelli Trofeo tires (the tires are standard Pirelli P Zero). There are also, as an option, carbon fiber wheels.

The appearance of the black horse, which Ford described as “ominous,” seems to put fear in place. At the front, the bumper is unique, the headlights are darkened and the grille is all in gloss black.

At the rear, in addition to the spoiler inherited from the Ford GT mentioned above, the sports car bears the emblem created for the unprecedented version: a forward-facing horse, which seems to be facing everyone who watches it. The blue bodywork shade with a unique golden luster is also unique.

The brand did not reveal photos of the interior of the model, which should have its own finishes and a plate identifying the unit number. The steering wheel is known to be thicker, has a flat base and is covered in suede with blue stitching, there are silver fins for the gear shift and the manual shift lever is made of titanium, 3D printing.

The seats and door panels also use shades of blue on the seams, as well as the seat belts. In the optional Appearance Package, the seats are blue with perforated upholstery.
