US President Joe Biden on Friday praised the economic policies of the government, which is struggling to show voters unease that it has boosted the economy. The president said he plans to negotiate with the oil companies, and predicted the Democrats would win midterm elections On Tuesday (8), though, polls indicate Republican victories.
On a three-day tour of four states, Biden suspended telecom company Viasat Inc. In Carlsbad, California, he said the latest government jobs report shows that the US economy created 261,000 jobs last month, in a sign of progress.
Biden said he plans to have a “lightening” conversation with US oil companies soon to complain about record profits at a time when Americans are paying high prices at the pump.
Biden declared inflation a top priority, stressing that he takes Americans’ economic concerns seriously as voters head to the polls on Tuesday to decide whether he and Democrats retain control of the US Congress.
“Guys, our economy continues to grow and create jobs even with low gasoline prices,” he said. We also know that people are fighting inflation.” But he said there are “bright spots” where the country is recovering.
Expectations show that Republicans are about to take control of the House United States of America And perhaps the Senate, too, which would give them the power to block Biden’s legislative agenda for the next two years.
Biden said he thinks Democrats could buck the trend this time. “We’re going to win this time. I’m very excited about our chances,” the president said, adding that Democrats have a good chance of winning the House of Representatives.
