Brasilia – Oh King Charles IIIFrom the United Kingdom, a letter was sent to the President with “Best regards”. Luis Inacio Lula da Silva (PT), was sworn in this Sunday, 1st. The country’s ambassador to Brazil, Stephanie Al-Khaq, delivered the message.

In the letter, the King referred to the “dear friendship” and “strong partnership between Brazil and the United Kingdom”. Charles III said he was looking forward to deepening the relationship during Lula’s tenure.

“Our countries can do a lot to support the most vulnerable. Through investments, science and technology, we can work together to stimulate sustainable development and address the grand challenges of our climate, nature and food security”, he wrote.

Charles III addressed the President’s visit to COP-27 in November. After the second round of elections, Lula gave a speech on climate change at the United Nations (UN) conference.

The king said he felt “encouraged” to hear that Lula “stressed the urgent need to address the climate crisis during your victory speech and at COP-27”.

“It reminded me of my trip to the Amazon in 2009, where I witnessed firsthand the terrible effects of deforestation and climate change on rainforests and indigenous peoples and communities,” King said.

“I look forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation between Brazil and countries around the world on issues that affect us most deeply.”

“Mr President, I offer my warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the Federal Republic of Brazil.

Historically, Brazil and the United Kingdom have enjoyed a warm friendship and strong partnership, which I look forward to deepening during your presidency.

Our countries can do a lot to support the most vulnerable. By mobilizing investments, science and technology, we can collaborate to drive sustainable development and address the grand challenges of our climate, nature and food security.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, also spoke in support of the President. “On behalf of the UK I wish you every success in leading Brazil and I look forward to strengthening our economic, cultural and environmental ties,” he wrote on Twitter.

President of France Emmanuel Macron, posted a photo with Batista on the social media site. “Order and progress: Brazil respects its slogan. Dear President, dear friend Lula, congratulations on your inauguration. We are together!”, he wrote.

President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez, who congratulated Lula in person at the ceremony, said, “It’s a dream come true.” “I wish you all the best for this administration and may the future be full of deep brotherhood. With fair, free and equal outlook, we will achieve true development of our people.”

President of Colombia, Gustavo Pedro, also announced the inauguration of Lula. “I believe these political changes will lead to a path of irreversible integration in South America,” he said.
