On his first day as Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Minister Carlos Favaro received international delegations this Monday (2nd) to discuss the relationship between Brazilian agriculture and global food security.
United Kingdom Minister for Environment, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Therese Coffey, was in Mapa to discuss issues of cooperation between the two countries. “On my first day in the job it is very important that the United Kingdom shares the same objectives,” the minister said.
Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svridenko also visited Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture. High on the agenda was the possibility of Brazil importing fertilizers. Federal Deputy Neri Keller, who was part of a task force on agriculture in the transition of government, also participated in the meeting.

Fávaro also received Mario Lupetkin, FAO Deputy Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean. He highlighted Brazil’s accentuation and importance to regional development. “Every move by Brazil is very important for Latin America and the Caribbean,” Lupetkin said.
