Luis Capaldi topped the UK Singles Chart with “Pointless”.
Six weeks later, Luis Capaldi managed to put his latest single at number one in the UK Singles Chart. “Pointless,” co-written with Ed Sheeran, climbs 14 spots to No. 1, leaving only one debut in the top 40: Skrillex’s “Rumble (With Fred…, Flodden & Ellie Duhey),” at No. 19.

Three other songs climbed the charts and reached the top 40. Miguel’s “Sure Thing” is the most impressive, shooting 83 to 14. Tory Lanez’s “The Color Violet” moves from 41st to 36th, and Hotel Ugly’s “Shut Up My Mom’s Calling” moves from 47th to 38th.

The album chart continued in much the same fashion as last week, with Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” ending its fifth straight week at No. 1. Albums ranked two through five remained the same.

There were only two debuts for the week: “Phosphorescent,” by Gabriel Aplin at No. 15, and Iggy Pop’s “Every Loser” at No. 33.
