Find out which devices consume the most energy

With your energy bill getting more expensive, and being without air conditioning during this time of year becoming almost impossible, there are a few ways to reduce that cost with small, simple, but effective habits. Some examples are: leaving the lights off when you’re not in the room, choosing LED lights or appreciating natural lighting and taking shorter showers.

However, there are devices that consume more energy than others, even when they are turned off, but plugged in. So, before going to bed it is always a good idea to check the plugs and remove some just to plug them back in the next day. With this, you will see how your energy costs will decrease for the month.

microwave

If you usually leave your microwave plugged in all day, from now on the best thing you can do to save energy is to leave it off when not in use. That’s because this appliance, which breaks a branch when it comes to heating food, consumes energy even in standby mode.

Sound system

It’s okay if you want to use them while cleaning the house and doing daily household chores, but when you’re not using them, it’s best to unplug these devices from the power supply.

Mobile phone chargers

After you have finished charging your device, unplug it to save power. Chargers are a big problem for anyone with a high electricity bill, as keeping them always connected can be one of the reasons for the high consumption.

Computers

To save energy, turn off the computer when not in use and unplug it. The same goes for laptops. Many people tend to leave the charger connected to the device all day, but this only hurts those who want to save money.

the television

TV is the last major cause of increased electricity bill due to standby mode. Even when it’s turned off, it can still consume power, so the ideal solution is to unplug it and plug it back in only when you’re watching something.
