Uber customers in the UK can now book flight tickets through the platform. The innovation is currently only available to select users, but will be rolled out to everyone in the coming months.
According to Business Insider PortalThe company has ambitions to create a super app for public transport – in the United Kingdom, it already allows booking tickets for buses, Thames River ferries and trains including Eurostar, in addition to cars.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce Flight Booking as the latest addition to our suite of travel booking options,” said Andrew Brehm, the airline’s general manager in the UK, in a press release. “Over the last 12 months, with trains, buses and now flight bookings, Uber is truly an all-in-one travel solution.”
Uber works with the Hopper Travel app to offer flight tickets. Customers can cancel or change their flight for any reason. Additionally, bookers get a discount on car travel to the airport.
Prem said the project, first unveiled by CEO Tara Khosrowshahi in 2018, is the company’s “latest and most ambitious move” to turn it into a major travel app.
At the time, he said he wanted to turn Uber into the “Amazon of transportation.” A year later, he opined, the company would be “the operating system for everyday life in the city.”
