The President of the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina, Mauro de Nadal (MDB) this week visited some Ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to present Santa Catarina’s position regarding the time frame issue.
The information he brought from there was that the Speaker of the House, Arthur Lyra (PP/AL), must put the issue to a vote in the House even before the issue is re-analyzed by the STF.
Lira emphasized that Bill No. 490/07, which presents the delimitation of local borders to the National Congress, should be on the agenda shortly after the vote on the financial framework, that is, it will not take long. The PL also formalizes the time frame thesis that, according to the proposal, those permanently inhabited by Indigenous peoples in the enactment of the 1988 Federal Constitution would be recognized as Indigenous lands.
Mauro de Nadal was in a meeting with ministers Andre Mendonça and Gilmar Mendes, who have not yet taken a position on the controversial trial.
