The document serves as the basis for selecting eight host cities for the Microregional Phase
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports (Subesp), of the State Secretariat for Social Development of the State of Minas Gerais (Sedese-MG), has issued the tender specifications for the Indoor Games of Minas Gerais 2023 (JIMI) (click here to access). The materials combine guidelines, criteria and specifics so that municipalities interested in becoming one of the eight headquarters of the small regional phase can register. The deadline for sending completed bid specifications is July 2nd.
To enable the participation of all municipalities in Minas Gerais, the state is divided into eight microregions: Caparaó-Vale do Aço, Rio Doce, Jequitinhonha-Mucuri, Metropolitana, Norte Central, Triângulo-Noroeste, Sul, Sudoeste-Oeste, and Vertentes-Mata. From the selection made by Sedese, eight municipalities will be selected, each representing one of these microregions.

In the 2023 edition of Jimmy, the competition will be held in two stages, the partial stage and the government stages. The Microregional will take place in two periods: the first between November 15 and 19, with the announcement of the host cities expected to take place in August. The second in 2024, on a date to be determined by Sussup. The state phase will also be in 2024, with a date and venue to be determined in the future.
“Jimi is considered the most traditional sporting event in Minas Gerais. It aims to encourage the practice of sports, contribute to the exchange of athletes between municipalities in Minas Gerais and stimulate the cultural and tourism potential of the regions of the state. In addition, Jamie enables economic gains for the host cities, by offering jobs new, sports-related and other services”, summed up Samuel Souza, Director of Incentives for Participation and Sports Performance at Sedese.
