Previously, WhatsApp showed the same options, but with the standard Apple system interface, simpler, in text format and without icons. Other in-app commands have also been changed, including the selection to delete messages and the drop-down menu for muting conversations.

The new look on iPhone will be gradual for WhatsApp users

According to the WABetaInfo portal, these changes have already been implemented in the stable version of WhatsApp for iPhone, but they will be rolled out gradually, which means that some users may take longer to receive updates.

In addition, recently WhatsApp has also released a new function that allows you to start a conversation with a number that is not saved in Contacts. Previously, you had to save the number before initiating the call or use third-party apps to avoid this extra step.

Now, users can search for a number through the WhatsApp search bar and start the conversation easily by filling in the area code, number and clicking on the ‘Chat’ icon. This update makes it easier to call unknown numbers without having to save the contact beforehand.

A recent update to the app was to send videos via Messages, something some competitors like Telegram have made possible for years, but aren’t yet allowed on WhatsApp. The novelty will also have a gradual implementation, with some users receiving it before others.
