In a speech apparently filmed on the continent, Yevgeny Prigozhin said the group was working to make Africa “more free”.
RT – The head of the group, Evgeny Prigozhin, said in a new video speech that the Wagner PMC continues to recruit and work hard to “make Russia bigger.” He added that Wagner is also trying to help Africa become “freer”.
The short video appeared online on Monday and appears to have been filmed in Africa. The head of the junta was armed and in military uniform standing in the savannah area with several armed men and weapons trucks in the background.
The Wagner Group carries out reconnaissance and research activities. Let’s make Russia bigger on all continents! Africa is freer. Justice and happiness for all African people,” Prigozhin said, adding that the group has pursued “ISIS, al-Qaeda and other bandits.”
Wagner’s president said the Wagner company employs “true champions”, claiming that it continues to “fulfill the tasks that have been set and for which we have made the promise that we can”. Prigozhin did not clarify the specific nature of these tasks or the people who assigned them. It was also not immediately clear when or where exactly the address was registered.
The speech comes after nearly two months of silence by Chief Wagner. Prigozhin was active on social media before the failed uprising launched by PMC in late June amid a dispute with the Russian Defense Ministry. Eventually, the PMCs were reallocated to Russia’s closest ally, Belarus, under a deal facilitated by President Alexander Lukashenko.

In recent weeks, Poland has repeatedly sounded the alarm about Wagner’s presence in Belarus, even claiming that his contractors have tried to breach the border. Minsk has strongly rejected allegations of Wagner’s alleged activities, with Lukashenko claiming that Warsaw “has gone crazy” with all the speculation surrounding the PMC.
