Commercial tournament Thank you, Massafera It’s making waves on social media. On the topic of cashews, the video begins by showing the actress harvesting the fruits, but there are two details that caught the attention of netizens. As if the fruit wasn’t hanging upside down from the branch (i.e. next to the nut), the tree shown in the photos is not a cashew tree, but a blackberry tree.

The campaign in question is from L’Occitane, a cosmetics brand known for using typically Brazilian ingredients in its products, and the failures have become a running joke on the internet, generating numerous memes and leaving the public angry. Following the controversy, the original video is no longer available on any of the brand’s official profiles.

In one post, a profile asks how errors in the ad approval process are overlooked. “How do they allow this? Usually there are about 20 professionals (advertising, PR, marketing) to approve it,” he asked.

One netizen tried to justify what happened by raising an old issue between residents of the northeast and southeast, as the plant is originally from northeastern Brazil: “This was clearly done by a southeastern person who had never seen a cashew tree in his life, and worst of all is that he… “He came across a team that saw this and approved of it, and they didn’t bother to look it up.”
