The Municipal Secretariat for Regional Development and the Environment (Sedet) has granted a building permit to implement the sixth McDonald’s unit in Maceió, scheduled to open by the end of this year. The new restaurant is being built on a total area of 248.64 sq.m., on the banks of the Avenida Fernandez Lima, one of the most important roads in the city, in the Farol neighborhood.
By a note, the chain tells that opening another restaurant in the Alagoas capital will enable the brand to stay close to customers. McDonald’s also indicates that it is studying new options to open other units.
The Mayor for Regional Development and the Environment, Pedro Vieira, highlighted the importance of the jobs arriving with the new McDonald’s unit. “We are grateful to be able to contribute to new job opportunities in our capital,” added Vieira.
Job generation
Despite the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company announced that it will generate around 50 jobs immediately after completion of work. “By creating new jobs, we are also helping to develop the region in the midst of this complex period,” McDonald’s adds in a note.
