Eliane Giardini says a triumphant farewell to her best character

Eliane Giardini has had a successful career full of wonderful interpretations. One of the main names in Globo’s dramatic drama was always involved in important roles. But none of them are as powerful as Agatha. The villainess of Terra e Paixão was so powerful that she became the protagonist of a Walcyr Carrasco mystery, even though only a few chapters remained on the air.

When it was said that Agatha was alive in Land and Paixão, and would appear again in the story – she had until then only appeared in flashbacks played by Bianca Bin – much was said about who would bring the character back to life. Giardini’s choice couldn’t have been better. With a resume as heavy as her antagonists in the story, Gloria Perez and Toni Ramos, the actress didn’t let the ball drop and ran the sequences from top to top.

+ Virginia Fonseca suffers from a ripped stomach and ends up ripped: “Don’t be fooled”

Faced with a bad character like Agatha, Giardini did not think twice and avoided naturalism, exploring powerful sequences with heavy paints, the artist did not spare moments of faces and mouths and even with intonation that was slightly above tone. However, none of this is a criticism, but rather a compliment. There are few names in Brazilian television who know how to create caricatured characters without taking away the humanity.

Giardini’s villain in Land and Paixão was not at all reminiscent of a witch from children’s films, but a real person, as bad as anyone else. This is because everything was well planned by her to achieve what was seen on stage. In her farewell, almost all of the final week’s scenes showed rare sincerity, including eyebrow movements to show just how much she hates the villain.

Eliane has an enviable CV with the most diverse roles throughout her career, none quite like Agatha. The villain created by Walcyr Carrasco and Thelma Guedes could be a trap given the level of evil and could take away believability. However, the actress rolled over and defended what became her greatest work among all the characters she has ever played.
