Parana confirms 14 new deaths and the number of dengue cases reaches more than 73 thousand

The State Department of Health (SESA) confirmed another 15,361 cases and 14 new deaths due to dengue in Paraná. The bulletin was issued on Tuesday afternoon (5).

In the current epidemic period, which began in July 2023, the state has recorded 73,928 confirmed cases and 37 deaths.

According to Sisa, this is the bulletin that includes the most confirmed cases in the current epidemic period.

The new deaths belong to people between the ages of 31 and 92 years, including 5 with concomitant diseases. Deaths were recorded in:

What are the symptoms of dengue fever?

Dengue fever is transmitted through the bite of a female Aedes aegypti mosquito infected with the virus. After the bite, symptoms may appear within 15 days, according to the Ministry of Health.

Usually, the first manifestation of dengue fever is a high temperature (39°C to 40°C), which lasts from two to seven days, accompanied by headache, weakness and pain in the body, joints and the back of the eyes.

Dengue can also cause: spots on the face, trunk, arms, and legs. Patients may also experience loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
