What are the changes in the new WhatsApp update?

  • The messaging app realized that it was time for a change and evolution in design.
  • To achieve this, a new color palette with more than 35 options has been added.
  • WhatsApp received deeper tones for “Reduce eye strain in low light situations“.
  • The app's dark mode, a popular option that many users use by default, is now also darker to make messages easier to read.
  • The default background in chats has also been changed in the latest version.
On Android, WhatsApp has also received a bottom navigation bar that adds shortcuts to chats, updates, communities, and calls, a feature that was already available on iOS. Photo: WhatsApp/Disclosure

For iOS, WhatsApp will make it easier to send photos and files with a new simplified layout for attachments. Instead of a full-screen menu, users will now see icons that allow them to more clearly see options when uploading photos, documents, and more.
