Popular singer Javan, 75, has decided not to allow Globo to broadcast his show live at Tim Music, a free music festival taking place this weekend on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro.
According to information from the F5 column of Folha de S. Paulo, the decision came from Djavan himself, who used to not publish his shows to be shown on television. The presentation will be broadcast on Globo's music and entertainment channel Multishow on cable TV.
The show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. In addition to Djavan, other artists such as rapper Rael will perform this Sunday. Ryle's show will be broadcast normally on Multishow.
Presenter Kenya Sade, without going into details, informed the Multishow audience that they were watching the Tim Music Festival on TV on Saturday (1st). Over the weekend, Globo Channel showed performances by artists such as Iza and Gloria Groove.
“We will have a Djavan show, but unfortunately we will not broadcast it. His team has not authorized the broadcast, but anyone on Copacabana Beach will be able to watch the full show.”
It is rare for artists to veto the broadcast of their performances at festivals organized by Globo and Multishow. Madonna, who recently performed in Rio, asked the company to broadcast her concert from her Rio Celebration Tour with a delay of about 15 minutes.
The Tim Music Rio concert took place over the past two weekends, in partnership between the phone brand and the city of Rio de Janeiro, and supported by Globo.
