According to the international press, two activists pasted posters of Wallace and Gromit characters over the king's effigy.
A message was plastered on the board: “No cheese, Gromit. Look at this cruelty on RSPCA farms.”
With the move, the group is calling on Charles III's government to end its support for the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals, of which it is a patron. Their aim is to raise awareness of the investigation into 45 farms protected by the company and accused of cruelty to animals.
The first official portrait of King Charles III was released in early May. The painting is signed by Jonathan Yeo, one of the most recognized artists in the UK today.
The work is done in red and next to Charles III's right hand is a butterfly, which, according to the artist, represents the king's evolution in recent years.
