The cost will be high, given the average prices charged by other charging station providers: R$4 per kilowatt-hour, plus a connection fee of R$2.50. By comparison, the cost per kilowatt-hour at Tupi, a Shell partner, ranges from R$1.80 to R$2.15.

To check which chargers will be charged, the customer must access the Volvo Car Eletropostos app and use the filter for paid charging stations. In this same app, it is possible to locate all connected chargers, manage recharging and make payments.

Other charges that Volvo will implement are educational in nature and will affect drivers who are absent from a charging station and leave the car plugged in to the charger even after the recharging process is complete – preventing other users from using the service until the “slow-stop” person returns.

This is the inactivity rate that penalizes this type of user. After a grace period of 15 minutes, R$5 is charged every minute, until the charging point is finally released for other people to use.

“We realize that it is still necessary to educate users about the reality of electric cars and the issue of infrastructure,” says Marcelo Godoy, president of Volvo Cars Brazil.
