Since July, individual microentrepreneurs selected for the MEI RS Calamidades program, in Rio Grande do Sul, have begun receiving the first payment of R$1,500 as part of the financial aid package from the state government.
The initiative aims to support 22,000 small businesses whose businesses have been seriously affected by the recent floods. The amounts are deposited by Caixa Econômica Federal into social savings accounts, which can be accessed via the Caixa Tem app or at bank branches.
The MEI RS Calamidades program provides financial support to small business owners living in flood-affected areas of the state. To be selected, MEI must meet specific criteria.
Among the requirements, there must be an active CNPJ and CPF, operating in municipalities officially declared in a state of disaster and residing in areas affected by flooding.
Furthermore, the organization must be in operation, with active revenues, and not receive benefits from other government support programs.

How to be on the beneficiary list?
Eligible MEI institutions were selected based on these requirements, and eligibility was verified by cross-checking data from the state government. The final list of recipients is available on the official website of the program, using the CPF to verify inclusion.
The program provides for a total payment of R$3,000, divided into two installments of R$1,500. The first installment will be transferred at the end of July, while the second installment will be disbursed after the microentrepreneur completes the consultation on the program itself.
This consultation, which is part of the aid package, aims to guide small investment institutions on how to rebuild their businesses in a more sustainable way and prepare for potential future adversities.
According to Governor Eduardo Leite, he will invest R$33 million in this second phase of the benefit. More than 22,000 beneficiaries will have access to connection And register for the consultation. Remember that this is a basic criterion to guarantee another R$ 1.5 thousand.
