A Microsoft executive warns of the real harm caused by artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a technology that is super present in today’s life and is being commented on more and more. Advances in artificial intelligence could be great for some, as it replaces human tasks and improves our lives. However, for those inside and watching closely, this can be intimidating, and the developers themselves fear that dangers from Amnesty International.

Experts predict that artificial intelligence will harm our lives

We often see news about new functions and uses of artificial intelligence. As with ChatGPT, it is probably the most popular technology at the moment, which can be used for various tasks, simulating ideas, translating and writing texts.

However, some people express concern about the advancement and spread of these technologies. Experts in the field say that AI can cause real harm if used by unprepared or malicious people.

The Microsoft employee believes that artificial intelligence will cause harm

In a speech during a meeting of the World Economic Forum, last Wednesday, Michael Schwartz, from the economics department at Microsoft, spoke a few words. He expressed concern about advancing the capabilities of AI systems, and said real harm could be done to them.

“And yes, it will do real damage,” he said.

Microsoft is a major investor in OpenAI

Michael’s comments are surprising, since Microsoft is the main investor in OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT. Other Microsoft executives have already expressed opinions contrary to Michael’s, taking a more optimistic tone regarding the progress of AI.

For Michael, AI needs to get some kind of regulation through law, but without hindering the development of the technologies. He believes the benefits, such as automating many tasks, should be appreciated, but we must be careful about the boundaries AI pushes to avoid the real risks of AI.
