Protesters stormed the building of the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Opponents of animal rights lawyer Animal Rebellion climbed into a UK government building on Tuesday (26) to demand a national transition to a plant-based diet.

The organization, which has thousands of followers, advertised on its social networks the moment they climbed and hung banners on the building of the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in Westminster.

In the release, Animal Rebellion demands a position from world leaders at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference and cites Amazon.

“Meat and dairy products are one of the main producers of the gases that cause 90% of the deforestation in the Amazon and the greenhouse effect. World leaders at COP26 cannot talk about achieving climate goals without talking about our diet. It destroys our planet,” they say.

Animal Rebellion says it wants to stay in the building until Prime Minister Boris Johnson promises to cut off all taxpayer support for livestock.
