North Korea claimed to have simulated a “nuclear counterattack”, according to information published by the North's Korean Central News Agency on Tuesday (23). The operation was supervised by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

According to North Korea, the simulated counterattack was carried out using “multiple very large missile units,” which hit targets about 350 kilometers away.

Kim Jong Un's regime also suggested that the test was a response to joint military exercises conducted by the United States and South Korea, which were classified as “provocative.”

In addition, military personnel from South Korea and the United States recently met to discuss North Korean satellite development and military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.

North Korea said in the statement that it will maintain its warlike stance and will continue to monitor “enemy provocations.”

Kim Jong Un's regime said: “North Korea's security environment is seriously threatened by ongoing military provocations by hostile forces.”
