The Special Group samba schools already know what day and location they will perform at Rio Carnival 2024., while Veradoro will be closed on Monday (12/2).
During the night, the managers and representatives of the 12 federations managed to fraternize and follow a concert by the Balacobaco group, while anxiously awaiting the moment to spin the globe and chart the date for each show.
According to the regulation, the date and status of two schools has already been determined. The current champion of the Gold Series, from the Access Group, Porto da Pedra will be the first to parade on Sunday (11/2), while the 11th in the Special Group will open in 2022, Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel, the second – Fair (12/ 2). All the others were called to the stage in pairs and, fortunately, knew what date they would stand on Sapucaí.
As is already customary, after the draw, the associations had ten minutes for the managers to speak and agree on any change of position, provided it took place on the same day of the bids. With time closing in and changes being made, the final standings were announced by Liesa’s president, Jorge Perlingeiro.
