Tom Daley was one of the UK stars in Tokyo Olympics. At 27, the athlete won a gold and bronze medal in the 10m springboard jump, becoming one of the few Britons to win medals in three consecutive matches.

In addition to his excellent performance, Dali became a darling of the audience due to his friendship and unusual hobby: the athlete loves you, often during competitions, to pass the time. He even knitted a medal holder to keep his gold medal won at the Games.

However, sad news about the swimmer appeared on Friday (08/06) in the newspapers. IOC is investigating homophobic comments by a Russian TV channel against Dali. According to the post, members of the gay community were described as “dirty, perverted and mentally ill”.

Alexander Bondar and Viktor Minbayev, of the Russian Olympic Committee, took bronze in the same Dali event. The two were dubbed “the common men” while referring to Dalí as the “British Gay”. One commentator even described the athlete as “hate”.

Asked about the comments, Daly said that greater inclusion would make the world a better place: “History shows that everything in society was dictated by straight white men. The world would be a better place.” The British said.

“There are a lot of people in the world who have grown up in difficult situations. I just hope that seeing athletes at the Olympics helps people feel united, appreciated, and feel that they can achieve what they want. When I was younger, I already knew I was different. I always heard people say things. Bad. You always feel like you can’t say anything. You end up canceling yourself, and you feel like you’ll never be anyone. In people around the world just by living myself. I feel very proud of that.”, Daly added.
