On Thursday (11), the Celular Seguro program reached the mark of 10 thousand devices blocked due to loss, theft or theft in just over three weeks of operation, according to data from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
So far, more than 1.1 million users have registered for the program, which includes more than 900,000 registered mobile phones. Claro began closing lines on Thursday, and by February 9, all operators had committed to doing the same, according to the ministry.
The user can register the devices through the website cellularseguro.mj.gov.br or through an application that can be downloaded from the Play Store (Android) and App Store (iOS).
The program is a government initiative to combat theft and theft of apps and mobile phones.
Through the website or application, you can report the crime and request the immediate blocking of banking devices and applications and new access to devices.
“A secure cell phone is another layer of protection for users. With a device not suitable for resale and with access to digital applications blocked, there will be no interest in stealing or stealing a phone that will become just a piece of metal,” says the Executive Secretary of the Ministry, Riccardo Cappelli.
The software does not have the ability to unlock – if the owner manages to restore the device, he will have to request access from the operator and banks.
