The head of the Central Bank (BC), Roberto Campos Neto, said on February 11, 2022 that data leakage from the Pix instant payment system would occur with some hesitation. Campos Neto also said that the cases recorded so far are moderate and that the monetary authority is working to ensure that there are as few leaks as possible.
For Campos Neto, the trend is for these leaks to happen more frequently, as the data scientist has grown exponentially. But it ensures that the central bank will attack all leaks so that they occur to a minimum.

Campos Neto stated that BC has taken a more transparent stance, compared to other countries, regarding the reporting of leaks in Location. BC reported that it will only disclose cases of Pix key leaks on its website.
Pix was created in November 2020, and since then, BC has already recorded three cases of data leaks. The most recent was on February 3, where 2,112 Pix keys leaked from customers of the payment institution Logbank.
In August 2021, 414,500 Pix keys were leaked from Banco do Estado de Sergipe (Banese). In January 2022, information was leaked to 160,100 customers of Acesso Soluções de Pagamentos. However, passwords and bank balances were not disclosed in any of the cases.
