Breeze Airways is taking its own space in domestic air transport, while expanding horizons. According to a presentation at the Skift Aviation Forum this week, the airline’s latest initiative, founded by Brazilian-American David Neeleman, is to go beyond the borders of the United States.

A company executive said paperwork for FAA approvals has already begun, but he didn’t expect what the intended routes would be or when they would be announced. He just said “yeah, it will be done soon”.

To keep up with this growth, the airline announced in March that it would reach 30 aircraft this year, double last year’s number, which includes the entry into service of 13 Airbus A220s and four more Embraer 195s.

The company still has an order for 80 Airbus A220-300s, with an option for another 40, to be delivered per month over the next six years. The first aircraft has 126 seats, with 36 seats in First Class, 10 seats in First Class and 80 seats in Economy Class. In a second delivery batch, it will be offered with a configuration of 137 seats in total: 12 in First Class, 45 in Premium Class and 80 in Standard Economy.
