Dimitri Bevol could score a big comeback match with Saul “Canelo” Alvarez this weekend if he can beat Gilberto Ramirez in Abu Dhabi.
Bevol retained his WBA heavyweight title by defeating Canelo in May – becoming the second man to defeat the Mexican – and the Russian is defending the belt once again here.
Bevol, 31, is putting his gold on the line against unbeaten teammate Ramirez, also 31, in the main event at the Etihad Arena.
Bevol’s record 20-0 in Abu Dhabi with 11 knockouts to his name, while Ramirez’s 44-0 record, the Mexican South has made 30 of those victories.
