Jose Butler’s side will face India in the quarter-finals. At the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, he is vying for the right to face New Zealand or Pakistan in the Melbourne final on Sunday. The match against India starts at 8am UK time and can be watched on Sky Sports. England won the competition in 2010 and was runner-up in 2016.
Saturday also saw the English men’s rugby league team qualify for the quarter-finals of the World Cup it is hosting, winning in the quarter-finals against Papua New Guinea in Wigan 46-6.
