Fatima Bernardes, 61 years old, returned to talk about the real reason behind her departure from the Encontro program, on TV Globo. The broadcaster recalled discovering that she had endometrial cancer, which made her rethink her life, to the point that she realized that she no longer wanted to work in front of the program.
Resolution for Leaving the program occurred in 2022, was prompted by the discovery of endometrial cancer. This is because in 2020, the broadcaster was diagnosed with a serious illness.
“I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer on Thursday, and had surgery on Sunday. Fortunately, it was at the beginning and I did not need radio or chemotherapy. The fear made me rethink my life. There I decided not to work at the carnival anymore and started preparing For leaving Encontro,” he said in an interview with Veja magazine.
However, this was not the only reason Fatima chose to follow new paths. According to the journalist, the routine has also become illogical in her life.
“After a decade, I no longer have this ambition to work in journalism. I don’t want anything else to connect me with journalism. I’m tired of interviewing mothers of children killed by the police, victims of tragedies.”

But after a decade, I no longer have that ambition.” “I was tired of interviewing mothers of children killed by police, victims of tragedies. You have already made this contribution. It has been 35 years of this hardship. “Today, I just want entertainment,” Fatima admitted.
