Wolves are amazing creatures. Owners of majestic appearance, they can be found in different parts of the world. They belong to the Canidae family and are related to dogs and foxes.
Among the most famous are the red wolf (Canis rufus), the gray wolf (Canis lupus) and the arctic wolf (Canis lupus arctos). Its coat color can vary from grey, brown and red to white.
Wolves live in groups made up of genetically related individuals. Its social structure is quite organized with a hierarchy where the oldest and most experienced have more influence over the others in decision making.
These animals play an important role in reducing herbivorous prey and thus helping to control vegetation. They can reach medium to large sizes, with slender bodies intended for hunting.
They are fascinating animals with complex social behaviour, which is indicative of how intelligent, adaptable and sociable they are.
