Football at the Olympics changed as Britain was disqualified from the race to become champion in Tokyo 2020.
The women’s team was tipped to go far in the tournament, but was kicked out of the games after losing 4-3 in overtime to Australia, who faced Sweden.
The important matches in the women’s championship remain, while the round of 16 begins with Brazil among the favorites.
If Euro 2020 doesn’t bridge the gap between Premier League seasons, there’s plenty of excitement to absorb here.
