Former French pilot Patrick Tambaywhich he competed in Formula 1 Grand Prix With the Italian Ferrari team in the 1980s, he died on Sunday, the fourth, at the age of 73. The feud’s family confirmed this information. He suffered from Parkinson’s disease for many years.
Born in Paris, Tambay raced in F1 between 1977 and 1979 and then between 1981 and 1986 for the Surtees, Theodore, McLaren, Ligier, Ferrari, Ranault and Haas teams.
In the Italian national team, he stayed for two years and achieved his best results, reaching his first podium in 1982, in Great Britain, and his first victory in France, which he dedicated to Gilles Villeneuve.
The following year, he repeated the feat at Imola, at the San Marino GP. During his career, Tambay also won the CanAm North American Championship twice (1977 and 1980). 🇧🇷
