A funny contest was created in 2015 in the UK to reward photographers from all over the world who have taken funny pictures of animals. The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards It has become a global competition watched by millions of people every year. In 2021, there were more than seven thousand registered.
The competition is free, open to wildlife photography experts and hobbyists, and celebrates how joyous our natural world is and highlights the importance of protecting it.
The images, which range from a surprising otter to a turtle that appears to be showing its middle finger, transcend cultures and ages to bring a smile to everyone.
The big winner, titled “Ouch,” features a monkey screaming over a wire filled with pain. The photo was taken by Ken Jensen, an amateur photographer, in Yunnan, China, in 2016.
Jensen told competition organizers that the monkeys roamed freely in an area near the Zun River and were comfortable with humans. It’s a fun feeling for him to know that the photo makes people smile all over the world and can help with important causes of animal conservation.
