We have in our hands the very powerful Galaxy S24 Ultra, which in addition to coming equipped with the most advanced hardware among Samsung mobile phones, is also equipped with a lot of technologies enhanced by artificial intelligence. Have we made much progress in this generation?
The design has undergone changes and has lost the curved screen that has been part of some Samsung models for years. Finishes have evolved from aluminum to titanium with the promise of greater impact resistance, while the display debuts new Gorilla Glass Armor. Not only is this glass more resistant, it also reflects much less light, which is one of the biggest differences with the S24 Ultra.
The multimedia suite consists of a 6.8-inch panel with Quad HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, and here we have a new generation Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with LTPO technology and a high level of brightness. This, combined with low-reflection glass, provides excellent visibility outdoors. Colors are less saturated by default and this may cause some weirdness at first. The audio part pleases with powerful stereo sound with excellent sound balance.
The Ultra is the only one in the line to arrive in Brazil with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It comes with a single RAM option, in this case 12GB, but features RAM Plus for memory expansion. It was fast in our speed test, though it fell short of its predecessor at multitasking. However, it is able to keep everything open in the background. Runs any Android game at maximum quality.
The battery remains at the usual 5000 mAh level, but since we have a more efficient display and chipset, the autonomy has increased by a few hours. In our testing it was possible to use the Galaxy S24 Ultra for 34 hours of moderate use including some gaming. The recharging time is still long, and even if you use a 45W charger, you will have to wait more than an hour.
The photography array features a 50MP telephoto lens, while the rest of the array remains the same. The Galaxy S24 Ultra takes great photos, but is softer in saturation. Losing the 10x optical zoom has a slight impact on sharpness when shooting something very far away, but it's still possible to get good results. The camcorder records in 8K, has good stabilization, quick focusing, and loud, clean audio.
The highlight of this generation is Galaxy AI, Samsung's suite of artificial intelligence, which can be used with the S Pen. Moreover, we have small improvements over the previous device to offer a more powerful and complete cell phone. It only lacked performance and recharging time, as you can see in the full analysis via the link below:
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will arrive in Brazil in January 2024, with prices starting at 9,999 Brazilian real. Below you will find the best offers:
