Haaland and Nike sign the second largest current sponsorship deal in world football

Haaland and Manchester City striker Nike revealed, on Friday (31), the second largest current sponsorship in the world of football, according to information from the British newspaper, The Athletic. The number 9 has to earn €23m (R$126m) a year, and the agreement between the Norwegian star and the sports material provider is second only to figures related to Neymar.

Brazilian player manager Rafaela Pimenta celebrated the success. “Unbelievable to see Erling Haaland/Nike come to life. In addition to being one of the largest sponsorships in the history of the sport, it is the mindset of breaking down barriers and inspiring us to be our best selves. Many congratulations to Erling! I’m very proud of you. It’s just a matter of changing the game, said the professional in a statement made on social networks now!

Despite the fact that the contract between the Norwegians and Nike is spinning in high numbers and has been going on for a decade, this is not the largest sponsorship in football today. That’s because the number 10 and reference of the Brazilian national team, Neymar, receives around €26 million, which is roughly R$142 million, annually from Puma, another supplier of sports materials and equipment.
