The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, stated this Tuesday (4) that he had spoken with the President of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, about the possibility of making installment operations in debit using PIX.
The Central Bank launched PIX in 2020, which is an instant payment system.
The possibility of installments via PIX was discussed between Haddad and Campos Neto on Monday (3), when they had a meeting at the Ministry of Finance. Other matters were also dealt with, according to Haddad.
For the farm owner, installment purchases using PIX can improve credit conditions in the country.
“Yesterday I was talking with Roberto Campos Neto about debt installments through PIX, which can be a great innovation for our banking system, you can pay in installments with this tool and improve competitiveness and credit conditions in the country,” he said. The central bank is already, as part of its innovation agenda, examining ways to include the possibility of annuities in the PIX system. However, there is no scheduled date.

In the more than two years since its launch, PIX has already gone through some innovations.
Among them, PIX Saque – which allows cash withdrawals in commercial establishments – and PIX Troco – which also allows withdrawals, but is linked to a purchase or provision of a service.
