Always involved in social projects, Lewis Hamilton created Mission 44. The foundation aims to support and encourage young people from minority groups in the UK. To start the services, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion made a personal donation of 20 million pounds – about 142 million Brazilian reals.

The financial support provided by the Mercedes chauffeur will be used to support organizations and programs that facilitate job search and education, through partnerships and collaborations. “Supporting the ambitions of minority youth has always been important to me, and Mission 44 represents my commitment to making real change within the community,” said Hamilton.

“In the past, I have experienced what it is like to get out of an underrepresented state and how it might affect the future. But fortunately, I have been able to overcome the odds with opportunities and support. And I want to ensure that other young people from similar backgrounds are able to do the same.”
